Cecily Brown at Two Palms Press October 22, 2004 | Archives Evelyn and David Lasry of Two Palms Press had us over the other evening for a discussion with artist Cecily Brown, who had been working in the studio for the last couple of days. We were lucky enough to view her just finished monotypes, before they are edited down to just a few. Brown answered questions about her method (uses oil paints and paint brushes rather than traditional printing tools), her inspirations (such as old master painters), and when pressed about her politics, her avoidance of such topics when it comes to her work (in order not to date the work, and to avoid illustration).
